BLOCKAGE
This hangover will pass.
The violence of old ideas can lay to rest.
In the battlefield of the mind scatter white flags
and flowers in every trench you find.
Place them along pathways of loneliness
and around the loops of perceived lack.
Declare a treaty of peace
where synapses once fired mistruths and fears that
your heart needed barricades and barbed wire to be safe.
Dismantle one by one the landmines of terror buried
deep and asleep in the grey sea of unconsciousness.
Gently with care
and with patience
seek them out and diffuse them.
