BOUNDARY
I’m learning to draw a line between
where I end and you begin
I’m learning to discern what is yours
and what is mine, learning to notice
where I put my energy and time.
I’m learning to be aware of who
I let in and how far into my depths
they are allowed to swim.
I’m learning that clear lines give
things a strong and flexible shape,
and limitation is the first step toward
any real world creation I wish to make.
The reclamation of any scattered parts is
the responsibility given to me by my beating heart.
