FEAR
In the theatre of the mind Fear works overtime
showing us reruns of the past -
familiar projections that keep us convinced
of our reason, our pain, our not-enoughness.
What old horror story might actually
be a comedy if only we would laugh now?
If only we would sing instead of shiver?
If only we would roar instead of coo?
Can we discern felt intuition from survival strategies?
Once we sort though what is real from what is imagined,
we can know which storylines are safe to release now.
Ask yourself, what are you trying to survive?
You have already survived! You are alive!
When we stop running from the shadows,
life invites us to relax and thrive.
