NURTURE
I lay in bed under the covers of my longing,
long enough that eventually I could taste
my heart in my throat.
For so long I’d been living
right between my eyes!
Until I began to recognize the whole
ecosystem of life that existed beneath me,
a web of intersecting needs, asking me to listen.
