WISDOM

An entire anthology of life

has come before us,
we do not exist alone or separately.

We are here now because somebody else

was here before.

Wisdom that is honoured, cherished,

passed and poured into us-

the temporary vessels that move through

the eternity of time -
is wisdom that was crystallised through

someone else’s effort or pain.

We give thanks and acknowledge

the wisdom of the past as
we continue in this present moment

to fill the cups of what is yet to come.
