WOMB
The walls of the womb resemble
roots and branches of a tree
an intelligent network of vessels and veins
that carry the ingredients for creation.
Within the protection of that
warm darkness, life is patiently cradled.
Sense the faint beating of a heart being formed
by the sheer potency of love.
A growing heart needs constant infusions
of water and blood to become strong.
For any idea or thing to mature well
needs a safe incubation first.
To be nourished and supported until it is
ready to be birthed into light.
Let the origins of every great creature
- the elephant, the dolphin, the lion,
the human child - remind you of this miracle.
