EMBRACE
A dream shatters at the seam and I wake up
inside the fullness of my own heart.
Now it bleeds at my embrace
and I have never been more alive.
This heart is like the sacred home
of two lovers who live side by side
sorrow and joy, pain and beauty.
As in any good partnership, the lovers need their
space to be and feel appreciated just as they are.
If one takes over, the other will surely fade
and if one fades, the home of the heart
will eventually become vacant.
Each lover has their season and
their seasons give way to each other.
